SUSTAINABILITY THROUGH DESIGN
Multifunctionality
To eliminate over consumerism we design multifunctional outerwear. Our outwear collection is engineered purposely to serve multiple functions in the lifestyle of the modern 21st century woman. The adaptability of our pieces mean that a single coat will cater for all 4 seasons.
Our adaptable coats include detachable sleeves, giving the consumer the answer to whatever the weather throws at them. The parka coats are engineered with a double layered design that can be worn independently during the warm season. We strive to eliminate the necessity of purchasing a coat for every season.
Planting the seed with digitalised farming
From seed to garment
Commited to circularity and reduction of our carbon footprint, we have produced a digitalized “seed to garment” denim collection, meaning that every seed and thread is traceable and trackable. All farms are digitalized making every driver trackable and monitored in real time providing full transparency of production. We are proud to say that the seed was planted in the same place where the thread was created and the final bag was tailored. The collection was presented in Forbes Monaco.

Eco Collection: Recycled Fabrics for a Clean Ocean
We have launched an Eco Ocean Capsule in Monte-Carlo. The outerwear garments are made from recycled plastic objects from the ocean. The collection has been showcased at the Sustainable "No Waste" Fashion Show in Monaco supported by the Gouvernement Princier de Monaco. The show aimed to promote the sustainable management of resources and waste.
Fabrics from the Ocean
No waste. No new resources.
We source fabric made from recycled plastic objects from the ocean and fishing nets. The waste is collected from beaches around the world and processed together with other fibres into threads.
Our “ocean collection”, uses ECONYL, a material which is made entirely out of fishing nets and plastic waste. The yarn is a global recycled standard and is PFC material. The fabric only uses organic dies. Engineered with the help of nanochemists, each garment is “built” around the materials used, rather than the other way round, to ensure it can be worn in every season.
Prioritizing sustainability, we make coats to order, reducing waste and maintaining fashion responsibility, without keeping stock.

UN Developmental Goals
Circularity
With each LAVA piece, we consider the environmental and social impacts across the entire life cycle. By focusing on circularity and implementing circular models, we want to eliminate overproduction, reduce waste and extend the life of our products.
As part of the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals, we focus on these themes through our entire textile production, labour force and multifunctional design:
10) Reduced Inequalities, 12) Responsible Consumption and Production, 14) Life below water.

Waste and second hand garments
Upcycle and waste textiles
To eliminate overproduction of clothes, we strive to use "waste" fur and textiles. We also work with upcycled and second hand garments, and thereby extend the lifecycle of the garments.
